Electron Recorder

Privacy Policy

Electron Recorder (by Watertontech) records, transcribes, and summarizes your meetings on macOS, iOS, and the web. Your meeting recordings, transcripts, summaries, and notes are stored on your device. This policy explains exactly what data we collect, how we collect it, how it is used, and the third parties it is shared with.

What we collect, how, and why

Sharing with third-party services (including AI)

We share data only with the service providers needed to deliver the features you use, and only the data those features require:

We require each of these third parties, by contract, to protect your data with the same or equal protections described in this policy, to use it only to provide their service to us, and not to retain it longer than necessary or use it to train their own models. We never sell or rent your personal data.

Your consent and control

Before any audio or transcript leaves your device, the app asks for your explicit consent to send that data to the transcription and AI providers described above. You can review or withdraw this consent at any time in the app under Settings → Data sharing & AI; withdrawing it disables transcription and AI features. You may also delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

Retention

Recordings, transcripts, and notes remain on your device under your control. On our servers we retain only your account, subscription, and aggregate usage records for as long as your account is active, and we delete them after account deletion except where we must keep limited records for legal or financial obligations.
